Seattle Storm's Sue Bird opens up about the WNBA, her legacy and teammates - and wanting an NBA return to Seattle

SEATTLE -

In a two-part interview, Storm guard and WNBA veteran Sue Bird opens up about a number of topics, from her thoughts on the WNBA's popularity to welcoming Breanna Stewart to the Storm to her legacy in Seattle. She also expresses her desire for Seattle to once again have an NBA team, after the Sonics were moved to Oklahoma City following the 2008 season.

Said Bird: “As someone who saw what the Sonics were like when they were here. To me, an NBA team is great for a community...To me, it’s a no brainer to have an NBA team here. I see how passionate people are about it. The fact they still hate Oklahoma City, I secretly love because it says so much. I think we should have a team.”

In part one, Bird discusses her time with Lauren Jackson and compares it to the latest two top draft picks in Seattle, Breanna Stewart and Jewell Loyd. She also talks about her rookie season and what she would've done differently - and what she'd like her ultimate legacy to be in Seattle.

In part two, Bird opens up about the state of the WNBA, entering its 20th season - and Draymond Green's comments about the league earlier this week.
