Authorities: Puyallup officer dragged by man in vehicle

PUYALLUP, Wash. (AP) — Authorities say a Puyallup police officer was dragged 40 yards by a man trying to elude arrest in his vehicle.

The News Tribune reports (http://goo.gl/Bp5cQX ) police responded Sunday to a report of men dancing and changing clothes in the street.

When an officer arrived, documents say an officer talked to the two men and discovered 21-year-old Walid Abdulwahab Said had a warrant out for violating a no-contact order and that his drivers' license was suspended.

Police say while the officer was leaning into the car trying to help Said tie his shoes, Said accelerated, dragging the officer who eventually freed himself. The officer suffered scrapes and bruises on his arms and legs.

Documents say after Said's car got stuck, he was hit with a stun gun and arrested.
