Weather helps firefighters gain 10% containment on Proctor Creek Fire near Gold Bar, Level 2 evacuations still in place

Gold Bar, Wash. - Firefighters have gained 10% containment of the Proctor Creek Fire burning near Gold Bar after wet weather in the area Saturday.

Fire officials say the rain and cooler wind help slow the fires growth  and gain containment on the fire.

The fire grew to 325 -acres overnight fueled by high winds.

Residents on the south side of Highway 2, between 437th Drive SE and 439th Drive SE are still under level 2 evacuations.  A level 1 evacuation remains for residents in the Big Bend community.

Fire officials say that no homes have been lost and there have been no injuries reported due to the fire.
