Employee at Seattle's Hutch Kids Childcare Center arrested on child porn charge

SEATTLE -- A 34-year-old Seattle employee of the Hutch Kids Childcare Center was arrested Friday and charged with a federal criminal complaint of possession of child pornography, the U.S. attorney's office said.

The man was arrested Friday morning after the execution of a search warrant at his home, U.S. Attorney Annette Hayes said in a news release. The U.S. District Court in Seattle ordered that the suspect remain in custody pending a court hearing next week.

According to court records, the man came to the attention of law enforcement earlier this week when another person implicated him in the collection and sharing of child pornography. Because of the suspect's employment as a child care worker, federal investigators moved quickly to get a warrant to search his home and digital devices, Hayes said.

"An initial review of those devices revealed images of child pornography," Hayes added.

Investigators are trying to identify any possible minor victims, she said, adding that the suspect worked at other child care programs in the Seattle area and also as a music tutor.
