Bertha has now excavated 162.5 of the 385 feet needed before viaduct can reopen

SEATTLE -- The Washington State Department of Transportation said, that as of Wednesday night, Bertha and her crews had excavated 162.5 feet of the 385 feet of tunnel that must be completed before the Alaskan Way Viaduct reopens to traffic.

The viaduct was closed to traffic at 12:01 a.m. last Friday and is scheduled to remain closed for two weeks, while Bertha tunnels under the structure.

Visit WSDOT's Bertha tracking page to see a map showing Bertha’s progress. It said that it will update the Bertha tracker one to three times per day, with the next update coming early Tuesday morning.
