Seahawks take TCU center Joey Hunt with sixth-round pick

SEATTLE – The Seattle Seahawks made yet another move to shore up their offensive line in the sixth round of the NFL draft on Saturday afternoon, selecting a center with the 215th overall pick.

Joey Hunt (6-foot-0, 295 pounds) is a mobile three-year starter who was named all-conference last season.

Hunt missed three games at the end of last season with an injury, finally having his lateral meniscus repaired via arthroscopic surgery.

Hunt is the third offensive lineman the Seahawks have picked in this year's draft, following Germain Ifedi in the first round and Rees Odhiambo in the third.

They also used a third-rounder to take Ohio State's Nick Vannett, a stellar blocking tight end.

Here’s how NFL.com describes Hunt:

Technically sound, three-year starter who plays with confidence and consistency. Hunt lacks the size and length that teams look for from draftable centers, but his football IQ, consistency and functional strength give him a shot.
