Valdez selected for Copa America tournament

Seattle - Seattle Sounders FC forward Nelson Valdez confirmed with Q13 FOX Friday that he has been selected to the primarily roster for the Paraguayan National Team for the upcoming Copa America tournament. The 100 year old tournament will be played outside of South America for the first time ever.

Ten U.S. cities will host 32 matches over the course of three weeks.

Other Sounders FC players could be called up for their countries as well, including Clint Dempsey, Brad Evans, Jordan Morris and Roman Torres.

The Copa America Centenario starts June 3rd.
