Police in Mercer Island doubling efforts to track down bicycle thieves

MERCER ISLAND, Wash. -- Bike thieves are working overtime on Mercer Island, and cops are doubling their efforts to track them down.

Police say thieves are cutting locks and stealing from apartments and condos. Officers recovered one stolen bike, making for one happy girl. The police department posted the reunion on Facebook.

Police remind bike owners to record their bicycle's serial number.
