Detectives recapture suspect who bolted from custody, impaled thigh on fence in Seattle

SEATTLE (AP) — The King County Sheriff's Office says they've apprehended a man who bolted from law enforcement as he was being walked back to the jail from an interview in downtown Seattle.

Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Cindi West says detectives had checked the man out of King County Jail Friday to do an interview in a county administration building. The man, who was wearing belly-chains, took off running afterward.

Detectives say they initially lost track of him but then heard someone yelling for help. West says soon after they found the man with his thigh impaled on a fence.

West says he was taken to a local hospital for treatment and then will return to jail.

The suspect is in custody on a Seattle police case and is a suspect in a carjacking in SeaTac.
