Woman suffers serious injuries after being struck by car on U.S. 2 in Monroe, police say



MONROE, Wash. -- A woman in her 20s suffered serious injuries when she was struck by a car while crossing U.S. 2 in Monroe Wednesday night, police said.

The driver of the car stopped right away,  was cooperating and was not impaired, police said.

The woman, who was transported to Colby Campus Everett Hospital, was not in a crosswalk while attempting to cross the multiple-lane highway, police said.

Police were investigating.
