FEDERAL WAY - Just hours after he was featured on Washington’s Most Wanted as a suspect connected to a home invasion robbery in Seattle, Federal Way Police arrested Shane Atonio. He appeared in court this afternoon and is being held on $250,000 bail.

Officers say he got into a road rage incident on Pacific HWY S at about 3am Saturday morning.  Officers say he kicked in the driver’s side window of a victim’s car and then fled the scene with his girlfriend. The victim followed him to Kent where officers say he pulled out a handgun and shot off 1 to 2 rounds in the direction of her vehicle. She drove to a nearby convenience store but he followed and pointed the gun at her and others in the car according to court documents. The victims fled the scene on foot. Police say Atonio and his girlfriend then drove off in the victim’s car. They were stopped in Kent and arrested. Police say Atonio admitted to kicking in the window, firing a shot into the air and taking the vehicle.

He has a prior conviction for Burglary in the 2nd Degree so it is illegal for him to be in possession of a firearm. He is now accused of Robbery in the First Degree, Assault in the First Degree, and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm. He is due back in court on Wednesday.

Atonio was identified by WMW viewer tips to Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound as a suspect in a home invasion robbery on March 25th. Detectives say two suspects climbed in through a window and threw a blanket over the victim, then beat him with a beer bottle before stealing his wallet, cell phone and a half case of beer.  Less than an hour later, Atonio was seen on surveillance video trying to use the victim's debit card at the 76 Gas Station on 1st Ave. S. in White Center.
