Bernie Sanders to hold rally at Safeco Field ahead of Saturday's caucus vote

BURLINGTON, Vt. -- Sen. Bernie Sanders will return to Washington state on Thursday to hold campaign rallies in Spokane and Yakima and then another rally at Safeco Field in Seattle on Friday, his campaign announced Tuesday afternoon.

The Democratic presidential candidate "will discuss a wide range of issues, including getting big money out of politics, his plan to make public colleges and universities tuition-free, combating climate change and ensuring universal health care," his campaign said.

Sanders swept through Washington last Sunday, with campaign stops in Vancouver, Wash., Seattle and Spokane. A total of 101 unpledged delegates are at stake in Saturday's Democratic Party caucuses.

Thursday's rally at Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena begins at 2 p.m., to be followed by a 7 p.m. event at the Yakima Valley SunDome in Yakima. Friday's rally is at Safeco Field in Seattle.

Use the Yakima Valley Fair Grounds stop on Yakima Transit Bus Route 6 South.
