PORT ORCHARD, Wash. -- Troopers say a semi truck driver fell asleep at the wheel late Thursday night and crashed, spilling giant rolls of paper onto the road.

According to the Washington State Patrol, the ramp from Mullenix to eastbound SR 16 was closed until 8 a.m. Friday.

Troopers say the driver fell asleep, drifted onto the shoulder and struck a metal guard rail and a concrete barrier. The semi eventually stopped in the ditch between SR 16 and Mullenix.

The driver was not hurt.

Crews worked all night to clear the ramp.

The Department of Ecology also responded after a small diesel spill.
