The National Weather service issued a High Wind Warning for King, Pierce, Snohomish, Kitsap, Skagit, Mason, Lewis and Whatcom counties for the later part of the weekend.
The warning will be in effect from noon to 11pm Sunday.
The weather service said the strongest winds would likely blow through the region later Sunday afternoon and early in the evening.
Widespread power outages and downed trees could be possible for many of the potentially impacted areas.
Forecast models were predicting up to 45 mile per hour winds with gusts peaking around 70 miles per hour.
High winds battered Western Washington late last week knocking power out for more than 70-thousand homes at one point. Trees were downed blocking roads across King, Pierce, Snohomish, Skagit and Whatcom counties. Bainbridge Island and Kitsap County were especially hard hit with the entire island losing power for an extended amount of time.
Forecasters predicted the southeast winds would begin with 20 to 30 mile per hour gusts before ramping up to higher speeds and then dying back down late in the evening Sunday.
