Woodstick 2016: Join hundreds of drummers helping support Crime Stoppers of Tacoma/Pierce County music program

TACOMA -- Here's a gig no drummer will want to miss!

Our partners at Crime Stoppers of Tacoma/Pierce County are gearing-up for their annual ‘Woodstick’ charity event coming up on April 3rd.

This year, join famous drummers from bands like Yes, Blue Oyster Cult, Foreigner and Tower of Power as they play with hundreds of drummers in unison. "We bring in lots of famous drummers from across the country and then we have 200 to 250 drummers come play drums with them, as young as four, clear up to 94 years old,” says Det. Ed Troyer with Crime Stoppers of Tacoma/Pierce County.

All the money raised goes to Crime Stoppers’ music program that provides instruments to underprivileged schools. “It's a great event and all they money we make goes to buy drum lines for high schools and junior high schools that may not have the funding, because of cuts recently in public schools for music,” adds Troyer.

‘Woodstick’ is Sunday, April 3rd at the Emerald Queen Casino Showroom in Tacoma.

Bring your drums to enter.

The cost is $15 dollars for drummers, $10 dollars for drummers under 18 years old and if you just plan to watch.
