Couple pleads not guilty to human trafficking Lacey teen

TACOMA, Wash. (AP) — A couple accused of prostituting a 15-year-old girl they met in Tacoma has pleaded not guilty.

The News Tribune reports that 25-year-old Desmond Wade Jr. and 24-year-old Michkalin Fox on Tuesday pleaded not guilty to first-degree human trafficking, promoting commercial sexual abuse of a minor, first-degree promoting prostitution and unlawful delivery of a controlled substance to a minor.

Fox posted bail after arraignment. Wade was still in jail in lieu of $400,000 as of Thursday.

Fox and Wade are accused of providing the teen with methamphetamine and having her prostitute herself. The girl ran away from her Lacey home in January 2014 before meeting the pair.

Fox and Wade's attorneys were not available for comment.
