Olympia couple move up wedding to help save cancer fundraiser in Snohomish County (VIDEO)

OLYMPIA, Wash. -- An Olympia couple moved up their wedding to help the American Cancer Society's "Relay for Life" fundraising event that was in jeopardy in Snohomish County.

The fundraiser almost didn't happen because organizers tell us a fake organizer lied about selling tickets. Eventful Moments was contacted by the organizer to help plan  the event. They contacted vendors to donate their services and secured a venue.  Saturday when it was time for the event, they realized they had been lied to by the fake organizer who not only didn't show up, but hadn't sold any tickets.  It was too late to cancel the event,  local vendors already threw in their services, including food, a photographer and a DJ. So instead of getting married in September, as they planned one of the volunteers, Stephanie McDonald and her husband-to-be decided to get married at the event and invite all their friends and family to come and donate, in lieu of wedding gifts.

They saved the day and raised almost $1200 for the American Cancer Society.

Sarah Swanson with Eventful Moments said none of it would have been possible without the vendors, who donated their services. She said they included:

Hidden Meadows

Trails End Catering

Flowers by Tiffany

Otto-Matic Mobile Music

Sweet Buffet Lady

CK Paper Designs
