Police urge hikers in Olympia to be on lookout after random stabbing on Woodland Trail



OLYMPIA, Wash. -- Police are asking hikers near Olympia to be on the lookout for a man who randomly stabbed someone on a trail.

The attack happened Wednesday afternoon on the Woodland Trail near the intersection with Boulevard Rose Southeast.

The victim says he was just out walking the trail when someone stabbed him in the back. He got a look at his attacker and said the didn't know him. Police say they think the attack was unprovoked and random.

The victim was seriously injured but is recovering.

Police are asking that everyone be on the lookout. The suspect is described as a white man with blonde hair and blue eyes with patchy facial hair and acne scars on his cheeks.
