Woman's body was in Wal-Mart parking lot for months, police say

SALINAS, Calif. – It took three months to discover the body of a 22-year-old woman who committed suicide in her car in a Wal-Mart parking lot late last year, police said.

KSBW reported that Lauren Jessie Moss’ body was discovered Feb. 3 – nearly three months after she left a rehab center on Nov. 13.

Though a coroner has not yet ruled on her cause of death, police said a needle and a note were found in her car, and police believe it was suicide.

Her Volkswagen Jetta had tinted windows and a sunscreen was covering the dashboard.

The Wal-Mart location has security cameras dating back to December that show her car parked in the same spot.
