South Hill man killed by suspected DUI driver who ran red light, police say



PUYALLUP, Wash. -- Puyallup police believe alcohol was a factor in a crash that killed a man late Monday.

Authorities said  a 24-year-old Tacoma woman ran a red light at S Meridian & E Pioneer and crashed into the side of the victim's car. A 46-year-old South Hill man died at the scene.

Police said the suspect was not injured. She was booked into Pierce County Jail on suspicion of vehicular homicide.

The Cooperateive Cities' Metro Collision Response Team is investigating the incident.

Charges could be filed by the Pierce County Prosecutor's Office.
