Tacoma woman killed in overnight house fire

TACOMA, Wash. -- Firefighters found a woman's body inside a burning two-story home Saturday morning, Tacoma Fire said.

Firefighters reported visible smoke and flames when they arrived on scene, on the 1300 block of East Harrison Street, just before 2 a.m. Saturday.

Crews began an aggressive attack to knock the flames back and searched the home for residents.

In one of the rooms, firefighters located an unresponsive woman. They were unable to resuscitate her.

The Pierce County Medical Examiner's office identified the woman as 51-year old Joann Silvestri.

Fire investigators are still working to determine a cause of the fire.
