Here's why K.J. Wright decided to propose to his fiancee at Boeing last month

SEATTLE – Seahawks linebacker K.J. Wright can’t take full credit for the proposal heard 'round the Sound.

Wright, whose proposal to his now-fiancee at Boeing’s Everett factory just before Christmas went viral thanks to the schmoopy Instagram picture that went with it, said fellow linebacker Brock Coyle helped with the planning.

“He helped me out and thought of the whole idea, and so we  thought about it two or three weeks in advance,” Wright told Q13 FOX in an exclusive interview that will air Tuesday night.

Wright said his girlfriend’s family was in town, and he wanted to find a way to get them all in one place without arousing suspicion.

“Her dad’s a big airplane guy, so I was just like ‘let’s take your dad to Boeing, let’s just show him the whole tour or whatever,’” Wright said. “So I did that, took her dad on a little tour, and at the same time just did it there.”

The plan worked to perfection, of course, but Wright said proposing was harder on his nerves than the moments leading up to the Super Bowl.

“Everybody’s got a plan until you get down on one knee,” Wright said.
