Barista, a mom of 2, dies of injuries from explosion, fire at Everett coffee stand

SEATTLE -- The owner of a barista coffee stand who was severely burned when fire engulfed her workplace in Everett last Thursday died Monday afternoon at Harborview Medical Center, the hospital said.

Courtney Campbell -- who was in her 20s, the mother of two girls  and owner of the  Sinners and Saints Coffee Co. stand on Everett Mall Way -- was severely injured when the stand erupted into a ball of flames at about 4:45 p.m. Thursday, Everett Assistant Fire Marshal Eric Hicks said.  The building was destroyed.

Firefighters say a propane tank stored inside the stand contributed to the explosion and fire.

The fire had also spread from the stand to a nearby car.

Witnesses reported explosions, which may have been the car’s tires from the fire, Hicks said.

An investigation is under way, and a Go Fund Me page has been set up to help her family.

A benefit concert for Campbell is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 16 at Tony Vs Garage in Everett.
