Holiday travelers finding stop and go traffic on I 90 at Snoqualmie Pass

SNOQUALMIE PASS - Pack your patience, along with your cold weather kit, if you're driving over I 90 at Snoqualmie Pass.  Drivers are finding stop and go traffic conditions, as skiers and holiday travelers are moving slowly westbound.

The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) is reporting that traction tires are required eastbound and advised westbound, as of 6 pm Sunday.  The freeways are bare with snow, slush and ice in places.  Temps are 23 degrees F and it's currently snowing.

WSDOT estimates that drive time westbound on I 90 from Ellensburg to North Bend currently is almost 2 and 1/2 hours.

Currently on US 2 at Stevens Pass it's snowing, but traffic is moving smoothly in both directions.
