Holiday travelers pack Sea-Tac on one of the busiest days of year

SEATTLE-TACOMA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, Wash. -- More than 1.5 million people are expected to make their way through Sea-Tac in the two-week period through Jan. 5.

And Wednesday, Dec. 23, was expected to be the busiest travel day with an estimated 137,500 passengers.

Experts say passengers should plan ahead and pack their patience with long lines expected around every corner.

One passenger admitted that travelling during this time of the year with small children can be stressful.

"Security and tripping over each other when you're carrying bags," he said while laughing. "It can fall apart quick."

We spoke with one passenger at the airport who was frantically trying to rebook her flight after finding out she didn't have necessary paperwork.

"I found out late last night that my passport was expired," Michelle Montague said. "I’m supposed to be traveling to Amsterdam today with my husband and twins."
