Man who pointed gun at trooper gets 11 years in prison

PORT ORCHARD, Wash. (AP) — A man who pointed a gun at a Washington State Patrol trooper has been sentenced to 11 years in prison.

The Kitsap Sun reports that 27-year-old Timothy Robert Hall was sentenced last week. He previously pleaded guilty to second-degree assault with a deadly weapon, attempting to elude a police vehicle, first-degree unlawful possession of a firearm and possession of methamphetamine.

Court documents show Hall pointed a gun at the trooper while driving in May on Highway 16 after the trooper tried to pull him over for texting while driving.

Police say he also attempted to evade troopers before crashing in a ditch and running away.
