DuJuan Harris cut as Seahawks look for answers at running back

SEATTLE – Whatever the Seattle Seahawks’ answer might be at running back, one thing’s now for certain – it won’t be DuJuan Harris.

The Seahawks released Harris on Tuesday along with safety Akeem Davis and receiver B.J. Daniels, part of a flurry of moves as the team prepares for the final stretch of the regular season.

Pete Carroll had said on Monday that Harris would compete for starting carries with the newly signed Bryce Brown.

The team is trying to figure out how to fill the hole left by injuries to Marshawn Lynch and Thomas Rawls. Harris had 18 carries for 42 yards on Sunday, but fumbled in the red zone.

The team also signed tight  end Chase Coffman on Tuesday, activated linebacker Brock Coyle from the injured reserve list, and released receiver Antwan Goodley, defensive tackle Justin Hamilton and linebacker Alex Singleton from the practice squad.
