The heaviest rain today has already passed through  Western Washington. Wednesday we’ll have scattered heavy showers and some sunbreaks which will allow some of the flooded rivers to crest this afternoon and recede somewhat. Nearly every river in Western Washington is above flood stage or at bankfull.

Here’s the bad news:  we’ve got more wind and rain starting tomorrow morning. Thursday night into Friday will be dry. Saturday could also be soggy with some passing showers on Sunday. Even our wet days of Thursday and Saturday don’t look as wet as Tuesday’s 2.13 inches of record rainfall.

Due to all the rain, we’ve had landslides– and we’re at risk for more though Friday with the saturated soils.  Snow levels drop from 6,500 feet today to 2,500 feet this weekend– that will not only help the ski resorts, but also lock incoming precipitation in the mountains and not send it rushing down river.
