Storm sweeps 7 in homeless camp into Puyallup River



PUYALLUP, Wash. -- Authorities rescued a group of seven people from the Puyallup River Wednesday morning.

According to the Puyallup Police Department, seven homeless people were stranded in the river around 7 a.m. under a bridge along SR 512.

Central Pierce Fire & Rescue was leading the rescue effort. They said everyone was safely out of the river by 8 a.m.



Officials said traffic on eastbound SR 512 was slow-going and alternate routes were advised.
