CARNATION, Wash. -- Heavy rainfall quickly filled the Snoqualmie River and pushed the water beyond its banks, flooding fields, streets and homes.
Road crews scrambled around the region, closing streets covered in water. But several motorists ignored the closed signs and drove through the dangerous, rising waters.
Rain continues to fall and many neighbors worry about what they might find at first light Wednesday in their community.
Lisa Norris recently moved to Carnation and she says she has never seen flooding like this before.
"Hopefully, we won’t flood, but last time we lost power," Norris said. "I’m not sure the kids will be able to get to school tomorrow."
King County Executive Dow Constantine will address the situation at a Wednesday morning press conference.
