December storms hammering Northwest, bringing danger of flooding and landslides



SEATTLE -- The deluge continues for us in Western Washington. Strong December storms continue hammer the NW with wind and rain through Wednesday mid-morning.

River flooding becomes an issue so stay clear of them. Urban flooding with standing water on the roads Tuesday morning through Wednesday morning commute.

Sound Transit canceled its Northline Sounder for the next 48 hours after a tree fell onto the tracks near Edmonds.

Many of us will get over 3 inches of rain from now through Wednesday morning. So today looks like not only the wettest day of the week, but it could be the wettest day this month. High temps will be about ten degrees above normal and near record highs.




    Wednesday will still have passing showers but much drier and even some sunbreaks.

    Thursday we’ll have more rain, but not nearly as wet as today. Snow levels lower on Thursday, so we’ll finally get the kind of accumulating snow the resorts are really wanting.

    Friday will see a few showers, but will likely be the driest day of the week

    The weekend will have passing showers but not as stormy as it has been lately.  Temperatures this weekend will be back towards the normals of 35-40 and highs 45-50.
