Wanted: Clallam County jail escapee

PORT ANGELES, Wash - Local law enforcement are looking for a 25 year-old Sequim man who reportedly broke out of the Clallam County jail on Saturday afternoon.

Police said that inmate Anthony Joshua Freitas was reported missing by jail kitchen staff around 3 p.m.

The jail was placed into lockdown as a complete search of the inmates work area and the housing unit Freitas lived in.




Freitas was being held at the jail for Taking a Motor Vehicle Without the Owner’s Permission and a Malicious Mischief charge, both of which are non-violent property crimes, a press release from the Sheriff's office reported.

Freitas is a white male and weighs 160lbs.




Freitas is not known to be dangerous person, however, given his current circumstances should not be approached if seen. Any member of the public coming into contact with Freitas should contact PENCOM at 417-2459.
