Woman accused of growing 200 pot plants in Bremerton house

PORT ORCHARD, Wash. (AP) — A 25-year-old woman has been charged in Kitsap District Court for illegally farming more than 200 pot plants in her Bremerton house.

The Kitsap Sun reports that Naval Criminal Investigative Service agents were alerted to the woman's operation by two other Navy dependents who provided photos of the plants and a photo of the woman tending to them. The woman's husband is in the Navy.

The woman's two children have been removed by Child Protective Services. Kitsap County sheriff's officials say it was necessary to walk through a room containing plants to reach one of the children's rooms, which had a lock on the outside of the door.

The woman was charged Monday. She had a permit to grow marijuana but it limits production to 15 plants.
