Man gets more than 30 years in stabbing of pizza delivery driver

EVERETT, Wash. (AP) — A homeless man has been sentenced to more than 30 years in prison for stabbing a Domino's Pizza delivery driver in western Washington in January.

The Daily Herald of Everett reports (http://bit.ly/1NoRoby ) that 35-year-old Christopher Cowan was sentenced Tuesday in Snohomish County Superior Court to the maximum under state sentencing guidelines.

A jury in late October found Cowan guilty of attempted second degree murder, first degree assault and first degree robbery.

Authorities believe the attack by Christopher Cowan was a case of random violence when the driver went to confront Cowan while he was prowling his car.

The driver survived the near fatal attack because he was able to make it back to the Domino's Pizza store quickly and get medical attention.
