Lynch reaches out to family of high school player who was shot to death

SACRAMENTO – Marshawn Lynch reached out to the family of a prep football player who was shot to death hours before a playoff game in Sacramento on Nov. 13, CBS Sacramento reported.

The station reported that Lynch sent J.J. Clavo’s mom a Seahawks jersey with Clavo’s name and number on the back.

Clavo played for the same high school as Quan Thompson, a teammate of Lynch’s at Cal.

Lynch, who is from Oakland, has maintained close ties with Northern California, establishing the Fam 1st  Family Foundation and contributing to toy drives, youth football camps and other community-building activities.

Clavo and a friend were in a car near the school when it was shot up, police said.
