Christmas carols with a twist.... Hint: carolers sing about climate change

SEATTLE —Carolers in Seattle hoped to raise awareness about climate change on Saturday night. Event organizers rewrote traditional carols with alternative words. They said the carols were about making a connection between consumption patterns and climate change.

“We as Americans have to reduce our own carbon footprint. We consume five times more carbon than the rest of the world. We went around to establishments here in the downtown quarter and sang to them about their own carbon footprint and we talked about the carbon footprint that each of them has,” said Lynn Fitz-High with 350 Seattle.

World leaders were expected to meet in Paris on Monday for climate negotiations.
