DES MOINES, Wash. — Police in Des Moines are searching for a bank robber who was seen leaving in a car with children in the back seat.

Detectives with the Des Moines Police Department said they were called out to the Well Fargo Bank on the 22000 block of 7th Avenue South at about 5:21 p.m. Friday.

Police said the suspect gave the cashier a note demanding money. The teller complied and gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of cash.

Witnesses told police they saw the man jump into the passenger seat of a white sedan that had some children in the back seat.

Police said they don’t know how many kids were in the car or how old the kids were.

They also don’t have a good description of the driver of the vehicle.

Police said the suspect vehicle was last seen traveling north from the area of the bank.
