What you need to know: 25th Macy's Seattle Holiday Parade

SEATTLE, Wash.—Friday marks the 25th anniversary of the Macy’s Holiday Parade in downtown Seattle. Q13 Fox News got a sneak peek of the floats and costumes on Wednesday.

New to the 2015 parade is a Cloe the Clown inflatable float. She is a smaller version of one of Macy’s first helium balloons in the New York Thanksgiving Day Parade.

“It’s the 25th anniversary of the parade in Seattle this year and it’s Macy’s gift to the community and everybody looks forward to seeing it and if we don’t do it, they would be very disappointed and we don’t want to disappoint our customers,” said the manager of event operations for Macy’s, Denise Hinton.

In addition to the floats, there will be marching bands, hundreds of costumed characters and Santa in his sleigh as the grand finale.

The parade begins at 9 a.m. at Pine Street and Seventh Avenue.

The festivities continue at 5 p.m. with the lighting of the giant star atop Macy’s and a fireworks show.
