Mom urges parents to vaccinate kids in viral whooping cough video

A mother's Facebook post pleading with people to vaccinate their children is going viral.

Rebecca Harreman, of Brisbane, Australia, detailed the heartache of watching her son, Austin, go through coughing fits while suffering from whooping cough in a Facebook post on Friday.

Since that time, the video has been viewed more than 870,000 as of Monday night.

"I've been on duty for over 3 weeks having to wake every single time my baby boy coughs for fear he will stop breathing. Every. Single. Time. I cannot and will not pass that duty to anyone else, because I just can't sleep," Harreman wrote in the Facebook post.

Her son has been suffering from whooping cough for more than three weeks, she said.

"I don't care whether you want to try and prove to me that vaccinations and herd immunities don't work. I don't care that vaccinations have side effects, because every person in this world reacts differently to all types of food, products and medicines," she said. "This is getting worse because people are not vaccinating!"

The post attracted many supportive comments.

However, it also received some negative feedback.

Harreman posted to Facebook on Monday thanking all her supporters.
