Prosecutors: Auburn man shot 20-year-old woman in neck after becoming upset

SEATTLE (AP) — An Auburn man is facing a second-degree murder charge in connection to a woman's body that was found in Kent last week.

The Seattle Times reports that 30-year-old Francisco Escobedo is being held in King County jail in lieu of a $2 million bail.

Escobedo is accused of fatally shooting 20-year-old Alize Gonzalez. Her body was found Nov. 10.

Charging papers say Escobedo and Gonzalez were doing drugs together when Gonzalez became upset and punched Escobedo. Court records say Escobedo responded by shooting her in the neck from close range.

Two witnesses were with Escobedo and Gonzalez at the time of the shooting. One of them tipped off law enforcement the next day.
