Man killed after tree falls on car near Sultan

SULTAN, Wash. (AP) — A man in his mid-20s is dead after a tree toppled by high winds crashed into his car in Snohomish County.

Sultan Fire Chief Merlin Halvorson says the tree landed on the car's roof directly over the driver's seat, and the man was killed instantly. His identity was not immediately released.

A spokesperson at Harborview said an airlift was requested by paramedics, but that there was so much turbulence the helicopter couldn't fly.
