Car crash in Tacoma

TACOMA – Police say Tuesday’s storm played a factor when a car crashed into an in-home day care in Tacoma on Tuesday.

Tacoma police said the weather and, perhaps, excessive speed were suspected to have caused the accident. They were still investigating just before 3 p.m. Tuesday, and the driver was still there.

Five children were sent to the hospital with minor bruises, police said. A total of eight people were assessed at the scene.

The crash happened in the 500 block of E. 72nd St.

No more details were immediately available.
