Boise State football player faces strangulation charge
BOISE, Idaho (AP) _ A Boise State University football player accused of attempting to strangle a woman has been suspended from the team indefinitely.
He remained in the Ada County Jail on Tuesday afternoon.
Authorities say police responded to a report of a fight in progress on Monday evening where witnesses reported an argument between an adult male and adult female turned physical.
Police later contacted Lucero and took him into custody.
Lucero, a redshirt freshman who played tight end, appeared in nine games for the Broncos this season, catching four passes for 63 yards.
The Broncos fell to 7-3 after losing to New Mexico on Saturday.
