Auburn man arrested in suspected homicide case after body of woman found in Kent

AUBURN, Wash. -- The body of a woman in her 20s was found in Kent, and an Auburn man in his 40s was arrested in connection with the suspected homicide, Auburn police said Wednesday.

Auburn Police Cmdr. Mark Caillier said that shortly after 2 p.m. Tuesday, police received information about a possible homicide that occurred at a home in Auburn. At about the same time, he said, the Kent Police Department received information about a body found near the 100 block of Russell Street.

Auburn police investigated the home in the 3400 block of I Street in Auburn and found evidence that led police to believe that a crime of violence had taken place, Caillier said, adding that it was later determined that the body of the woman found in Kent is the victim of the incident in Auburn.

On Wednesday morning, an Auburn man in his 40s was taken into custody in connection with the suspected homicide and booked into the King County Jail.

Auburn detectives continue to investigate the incident, Caillier said.
