Life-pro tip: Ditch your 74 bags of heroin before you try to ditch the cops

SEATTLE - Somewhat encumbered by the 74 bags of heroin he was carrying, a 44-year-old man was thwarted as he tried to run away from the police on Tuesday.

Seattle police were called around 5 p.m. to the 1500 block of 3rd Ave., where they were told the suspect had approached a man, flashed a gun at him and threatened to shoot him. The victim said the suspect jumped in a car and took off.

About an hour later, police found the suspect about two blocks from the scene. The man took off running, but the police caught up and arrested him.

They found 74 small packages of heroin on him that weighed in at a bit over seven grams, but couldn't find the gun the victim had reported.

Police haven't named the suspect, who was booked for threats and narcotics charges.
