Spokane man arrested on suspicion of murder after body discovered in Snohomish County

SULTAN, Wash. (AP) — Authorities have arrested a man in connection with a suspicious death in Sultan.

Snohomish County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Shari Ireton said in a news release Tuesday a 49-year-old Spokane man has been arrested on suspicion of second-degree murder in the death of a 61-year-old Sultan man.

Detectives believe the death is suspicious due to the nature of the man's injuries. They also believe the suspect fatally assaulted the victim after a confrontation between the men last week.

The body of the Sultan man was found in a wooded area Oct. 29 near the 32600 block of 132nd Street Southeast.

The victim and suspect have not yet been identified.
