Police investigating two new arsons in West Seattle

WEST SEATTLE - Seattle Police Arson Detectives are investigating two new arson fires in West Seattle, that were reportedly set early Saturday morning.

Officers responded to California Avenue SW and SW Oregon Street around 2:30 a.m. Saturday for a report of a dumpster on fire. Seattle firefighters responded and brought the fire under control, police said.

About the same time witnesses called 911 to report another dumpster fire about a block away in the 4300 block of SW Alaska Street. Police officers and firefighters responded to the scene and brought that fire under control.

Police said that witnesses reported seeing a suspect exit the alley where the second fire occured. The suspect was described as being a 20-year-old male with a slight build, wearing a gray and red sweatshirt.
