Man escapes from Lincoln County jail

DAVENPORT, Wash. (AP) — The Lincoln County Sheriff's Office is searching for an inmate who escaped from jail.

KHQ-TV reports that 34-year-old Ronald Alan Rutledge took off in a vehicle on Friday morning and then ditched it. Officials say he went into a house and stole an ATV, and then ditched that, too. The sheriff's office says they believe Rutledge is now on foot.

He was last seen north of Bergeron, west of Highway 231 and south of Fisher Road. He was wearing a blue coat and green beanie hat.

Rutledge was in jail on burglary and car-theft charges. He has been locked up since Sept. 1.
