2 critically injured, pets killed in Federal Way house fire



FEDERAL WAY -- Two people are in critical condition at a local hospital and four family pets are dead after a fire ripped through a home Friday morning near Federal Way.

Fire crews responded to calls of a house fire around 9 a.m. in the 2600 block of SW 332 in Federal Way. Crews found the home engulfed, and took people outside of the home for resuscitation. The people were transported to Harborview Medical Center with critical injuries, officials said.

One cat, one dog and two birds died in the fire. Two snakes and another dog were saved, fire crews said.

It is not known if the people injured were residents of the home. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
