Body of Silverdale man found in Olympic Hot Springs; pools closed to public

OLYMPIC NATIONAL PARK, Wash. -- Park rangers found the body of a 61-year-old Silverdale man in the Olympic Hot Springs in the park's Elwha Valley, and closed the pools to the public, the National Park Service said Tuesday.

The body of Bruce Gunderson was found in a hot spring pool on Monday. Due to health and safety concerns, the park service said, the Olympic Hot Springs pools have been closed to the public "until further notice."

The park service said the cause of death is under investigation, but added that natural causes are suspected.
